Rain last night so been working on engine despite very windy conditions. About ready to try to stab it but first needed to weld the egr hole closed in intake manifold. Get it welded and just wanted to add bit more nickel rod and kaboom, the Honda engine driving the welder throws its connecting rod.

Not big surprise, this Honda engine smoked like a son of a gun yet head looked good (like new) when I was working on it last year. So figured block wasnt in great shape and some previous owner ...

Well, another cool overcast day. Went down to get mail, got it, and when I turned around there is Mindblock. She must have saw me when I started out and followed the dogs. So she got carried back up. Sneaky.

Got my Honda head gasket, so even though its cool out, guess no real excuse to not swap parts over to the new short block and get it running for welder.

One of the carb rebuild kits is already on its way, got notice in email this morning. They are on the ball.

No Honda head gasket in mail and supposed to rain and turn colder this weekend, so guess i'll pull Ranger transmission today. Can drag the old buzz box welder down to the pole and hook it up to use to weld the lever. Debating whether to try to do this without draining tranny of lube or not. If I drain it, then got to get out the lube pump to refill it.

Found that carb kits for small engines are hard to find for specific model carb. Anymore they are selling kit that covers many variations ...

This cool wet cloudy weather is eating up wood. So I go out to get two or three heaping wheelbarrow loads. Old Roper saw hard to start but finally does. Go to cut and it dies every time. Am guessing the 10% alcohol gas that is only gas available now is screwing something up. But then its set for many years now after I got the Shindaiwas. Going to have to get carb numbers off it and the Shindaiwas and get kits ordered. The big Shindaiwa quit couple years ago now. Fuel line dissolved on ...

I think I could start a forum just on this truck. Anyway I put a rebuilt 2.8L V6 engine into it couple years ago. Big disappointment, just bad choice of engine for a pickup by ford. All the power of a 4cyl (maybe) and all the fuel economy of a V8 (if one is lucky). Starting back in January it started having starter problems. Ok I buy new starter and crawl under to install it. Old starter is hanging by one bolt, seems bolt threads in aluminum clutch housing for other bolt had stripped. ...

This morning looked like showers this morning though suppose to get heavy rain this afternoon and evening. So I put away tools and covered engines. As far as original question: pink banana is around 1300 seeds per pound, Rouge Vif d'Etampes pumpkin is around 1500 seeds per pound, and blue hubbard is around 1700 seeds per pound. So all three are simular large size.

The pink banana is something like 70#...WOW.... and c.maxima. The Rouge Vif d'Etampes ...

Wow, talk about expensive. $200 to $300 for factory low wheel hoe design, maybe $100 to $150 for a factory high wheel design. There is a low wheel kit some guy sells called Whizbang for $50 minus handles and wheel. Probably a good deal if you dont want to think too hard on it. He's done the thinking for you.
That extended cold snap froze water solid in 5 buckets and split them. Today I got soldering iron out and "welded" the plastic, using some pieces from an old brittle donor plastic bucket as filler. Seemed to work but wont really know until I use them again. Then wont know if patch will hold long term. I do know nothing else I could have patched them with would have held. Plastic is just pain to work with or get anything to stick to.

Been looking at remains of this tractor out in fence row. Since I bought that second backhoe attachment for $250, thought putting it on the WC and transplanting in old Chev straight six to power it since WC donated its engine to the WD many years ago.

Anyway brakes are shot. Priced bands with new linings rivetted on and its like $80 each side and $50 deposit until they receive your old bands in good condition. Only that one place selling any brakes of any kind for WC. JCWhitney long ...

Watched that yesterday. Deleted scene section on dvd were maybe even more interesting than movie itself. Anyway I swear you watch that and start questioning about everything sold at supermarket. It concentrated on meat production and I dont buy meat except for whats in dog and cat food for the animals. But same philosophy of greed and profit above all else in ALL food production.

This time of year I'd like to rent more movies but Netflix has discontinued my pricing plan and say if ...

Thought leaves were dropping on it recently, then went out one evening and must had 15 deer grazing on it.

Now sweet corn and sorghum were also in new garden area with no fencing. Neighbor's cows destroyed them though that sorghum ...

I will eventually try this out, but have to wait until I get new propane torch. One ...
